installing opencv on ubuntu: http://ivkin.net/2009/11/installing-opencv-2-0-on-ubuntu-9-10-karmic-koala/

to compile just run:
    $ make

Ubuntu issues: 
    # fix GLFW /usr/lib/libglfw.so symlink
    # obtain libconfig somewhere (i.e. from debian repos or install from source)
