I am not fan of this retrograde work but as you restored python 2 compatibility, do you plan also revert print() usage in src/tests/init.py?

Yeah, we could do that. I'm not actively testing python 2 compatibility because support for it ends in 9 months and we should've moved all our code to python 3 by then.

Python2 support ended months ago. If somebody still needs Python 2 support, then please provide a non-intrusive patch.
